Greetings, patriots!
This is an important public announcement for the entire BHFR family. As most of you are aware, we have been the target of increasing levels of harassment, discrimination, and intimidation, including (unfortunately) from the city of Beverly Hills itself, as demonstrated by continually increasing restrictions on parking and access to public facilities, and even the complete closure of the park on Saturdays only, without any reasonable explanation for the selection of such a schedule. The BH City Council has recently issued new update(s) of their municipal codes, specifically regulating peaceful assembly, which has clearly been done in response to BHFRโs tremendous success in uniting and growing a patriotic community.
Nevertheless, we have always publicly endorsed the total observance of and compliance with legitimate and lawful orders from BHPD, and we will continue to coordinate closely with BHPD in order to operate within the legal boundaries of Beverly Hills Municipal Code, so long as our fundamental 1st Amendment rights are appropriately protected, as required by the supreme law of the land, the US Constitution.
We have advised, and will continue to emphasize, the importance of
STAYING OUT OF THE STREET (*YES* this includes the bike lanes) โ if a single person violates this long-established traffic law, it gives police the legal right to declare our assembly unlawful, and jeopardizes the entire event for everyone else. PLEASE be respectful to the entire BHFR family and encourage each other to follow this extremely important lawful order.
We have previously explained rules related to flag poles; these remain in effect as a precaution against potential weaponization and injury, so please observe those specifications. The same goes for loud speakers/amplification devices, so please be cognizant of noise levels; we do live in a city, and it is necessary and appropriate to be respectful of our neighbors.
NOTE: per the recent requirement of the city of Beverly Hills, WE ARE SEEKING a permit for the legal continuation of our peaceful assembly on Saturdays at Beverly Gardens Park, which is a central public facility that should remain open and available to all residents and the general public, which is not a blockage or impediment to any other public facility or city/business operation, and which we have always occupied in a lawful, peaceful, and respectful manner without prejudice or animosity towards, nor exclusion of, any other person or group of persons.
Therefore, WE EXPECT TO RECEIVE this permit, and if the unfortunate potential circumstance of a denial occurs, we will most likely consider this discriminatory and an infringement on our 1st Amendment rights, at which point
WE WILL CONTINUE TO GATHER in public at or next to the Beverly Gardens Park area, in peaceful protest against such infringement. It is important that we all remember to KEEP FOLLOWING THE LAW; i.e. we must stay out of the street, and keep public sidewalks accessible to anyone passing by.
Thank you for your careful attention to this matter. STAY STRONG!
